My current active planner(s)
Ok. So. Loads of other planner obsessed people ask me "how many planners do you have?" and "what do you use them for?"
Well. Here goes...
1. I have a black Mulberry agenda (to the right) which stays on my desk at home and doesn't see the light of day in case anything happens to it. I had wanted this planner, in black, for a long time and I could NOT justify spending a lot of money on one planner. Then I went to New York for my honeymoon last year and I had saved ALL year for it. By 'it' I mean a planner of some sort, not the honeymoon!! I found the Mulberry shop and without a moments hesitation, I got it. I then went into Tiffany & Co. and bought a sterling silver ballpoint pen that fits perfectly in said planner. As you can probably tell, that was it for the major shopping!! I can say that, that pen and planner are my honeymoon treats and they are both originally from New York and I think that's pretty special. I guess you could call this my unicorn. I did go to Kate Spade in New York fully intending on getting a black Wellesley planner but they had discontinued the range by the time I decided I wanted to buy one. That's when I made my mind up about the Mulberry. I use this to track my blood pressure, where I keep my shopping vouchers, countdowns, a few bits for work, working hours...that kinda stuff. I have a week over 2 pages for this one but as I don't take it anywhere, it doesn't bother me and although it's small, it's fit for purpose at the moment. It's not a standard size either so I have to buy the Mulberry inserts and they aren't as expensive as I thought and I know I'll get them for Christmas! As you can imagine, the quality is superb :)
2. I have a personal purple Saffiano Filofax for my handbag. I tend to use that as and when I need it - appointments, when hubby is at work, what shifts he's on, any events we are going to, what we have going on and when, my school holidays and of course, the standard section for to do lists! I love the personal for day to day stuff. It's not heavy and I have the 2 weeks over 2 page layout for this which keeps the weight and bulk down. The pen I have in this is a purple Pilot V5 hi-techpoint, to match of course!) :)
3. Then there's my Happy Planner (just below) which I keep at home and happily decorate each night about stuff that's happened that day. It took me a long time to get into using this as I just didn't have a clue what to do with it. I felt it was too worthy of putting anything in it! Now I make time to use it each night to keep on top of all what I want to put in it! Although I am loving it at the moment, I'm not sure I will be rushing out to buy another when I have finished. The covers are not the original - I was given these by a friend of mine who I work with, who is also a planner addict! I don't take this anywhere - it just stays in my planner box in the living room. It's a shame but I have no need to take it out and it's VERY heavy! I will definitely keep this though as it has a lot of memories on in it - such as going to see Rick Astley, James Martin and Def Leppard earlier in the year :)
4. I also have a personal gold Saffiano Filofax which stays on my other desk at home and that is for birthdays and Christmas organisation. I have it open on the week we are on and I have written in important dates I need to buy things for so I can see a week in advance what I need to get sorted. This has been really useful as I haven't just chucked in on my shelf; I'm actually putting it to some use and (I forgot I had done this) I have already gave it a Christmas section and dedicated a page to everyone I am planning on buying for! How efficient and organised of me - I had no idea! This is also a week on 2 pages due to its use :) In keeping with the Chistmas theme, I use a green Papermate biro for this planner!
5. I have a dark blue Penny bridge Filofax (see below) that I use to keep tabs on my finances (or lack of!). That stays at home too and I put all the receipts in there that I need to make sure have come out my account before I shred them. I also have a 'paid' stamp which I use when I have seen it has come out of my bank account. Yes - there's a system! This is also a week over 2 pages due to what I use it for :) I have your bog standard Bic blue biro to use with this.
6. At work, I have a raspberry A5 Saffiano Filofax (I love the Saffiano range) My A5 def works for me at work. It's got everything to do with my work life in there - meetings, break duties, after school activities, after school meetings, agendas and minutes for meetings, to do lists and I also have some Kikki K stickers in there as they seem more suited to this planner than any other I use. I love it and I will use it next year, although it's not academic inserts so I have to buy more in January but I have enough for the first term back after the summer holidays. It's a week over 2 pages which works perfect for a school setting. Saturdays and Sundays don't get used but still decorated! ;-) I have a fancy pink Swarovski crystal pen I use with this!
7. For my well being and what not, I have an A5 Kikki K wellness planner (see below) that a good friend of mine decided to sell to me. I love it and this is where I plan all my meals for the week as well as making notes about fitness, new recipes I want to try and how many steps I have managed. Things like that! It has its own dividers with a spare one at the back but I'm not sure I will use them all once I have used all the inserts...it would be a good opportunity to design my own? I have done dashboards in the past but never dividers or inserts I have used for a long time. When I have finished with a set of inserts, I clip it together so I can go straight to the place where I need to go. What I like about the wellness planner is that it gives me a chance to sit and reflect on what I have been like over the past week and what my targets are for the upcoming week. If you're thinking about buying one, I would recommend it as the size is good and there are a lot of 'nooks and crannies' hidden :) I have the original Kikki K pen that came with this which I have kept as part of it as it's a roller ball and I'm partial to a black roller ball every now and again!
8. I also make greeting cards and small gifts so I have a black pocket Identity Filofax to log orders and when I have done them. You can tell how many orders I get with it being an Identity! This is a week over 2 pages again and I don't need anymore than that as I don't get inundated with orders! I don't have a pen with this as such as it sits on my craft desk.
9. I recently purchased a Webster's walnut Traveler's Notebook (see below) which I am starting to get confident with. I plan on taking this on holiday with me in a couple of weeks time and then use it for nice days/weekends out with the hubby. I have 3 books inside (a plain paged, a lined paged and a squared paged) I am not using any book for anything in particular - I just use it when the mood takes me. The plain paged book is great quality and would work beautifully with water colours (which it makes me want to start doing!) This was part of a 'I- have-money-left-at-the-end-of-the-month-according-to-my-Pennybridge' Mrs Brimbles haul in case you were wondering where I got it from.
I don't have a pen for this at the moment as I'm unsure whether I want a pen or a nice mechanical pencil...#firstworldproblems
10. I also have a Cath Kidston Christmas planner. I'm not sure if that will be made redundant now I have the gold Saffiano?! Only time will tell! I have used it over the past few years and used pencil so I could rub it all out and start again every year but it's starting to look worn now...it's got some really useful dividers and inserts in (like food, drink, gifts, cards etc) and you can add your own.
11. And then this happened...
To add to my already bursting-at-the-seams collection, I go and buy a personal Ochre Malden. THIS WAS A BARGAIN and I couldn't just let this opportunity pass me by. This has now replaced my personal personal saffiano filofax that goes in my handbag. I 'moved in' to her yesterday and now it feels like I have a 'proper' planner. As my friend Katy said on Saturday, !like a posh planner, Leanne?". YEP! This has the same layout as the personal purple saffiano as I didn't like the inserts that came with it, mainly because they were dated 2014...bargain for a reason!!!
I then have ANOTHER 7 planners ranging in size and colours!
None of them need syncing as they all have their different uses :)
